WaveMod is an automated audio mastering service that gives you the tools to master your tracks without purchasing expensive software or paying for expensive studio time. Our mastering technology analyzes the frequency levels of your audio files and determines the best mastering configuration for your track.
How it works:
1. Sign-up and create a "Project".
2. Upload your songs to the project.
3. Adjust some settings.
4. Pay for your mastering.
5. Watch the progress of your files when they start.
6. Download your master when they are done!
Cost & Price Estimates:
WaveMod charges $1/minute of audio.
Single Play (8min) = $8
Extended Play (30min) = $30
Long Play (60min) = $60
Very Long Play (80min) = $80
Tips, Information & FAQ:
1. Pre-Mastering: Don't limit or over-compress the songs before you upload them. Leave that to WaveMod. If your gonna compress anything, it should be the indevidual tracks, not the overall song. So for the best results, don't pre-master your tracks before you master them.
2. The Mix: Mastering shouldn't be thought of as a process to "Fix" a song. Mastering boosts what you already have going on. So if there are different levels in your mix that need fixing, fix them before you upload. No matter how good a mastering job, what makes the most difference is the mix itself.
3. File Formats: We only support WAV and AIFF files. Why is that? Two reason. (1) We are a small outfit and have not built in the feature to convert mp3's and other filetypes. (2) mp3's sound really bad so we encourage using lossless filetypes. It's really easy to convert files to WAV or AIFF if you have to using iTunes or Audacity.
4. Quality: In all honesty, this is a "rough" mastering service. This does not replace the quality of an experienced mastering engineer. This is a quick, rough and cheap service for demo's, rehearsals, and albums that just need a nice boost and smoothing out. We will keep making this service better, but if you are looking for the best mastering job you can get, hire an engineer.
5. Track Ins & Outs: This service does not handle track fading or pauses between tracks. We hope to add this feature soon but for now you need to do that before you upload the songs.
6. ISRC Codes and Master CD Burning: This service does not handle ISRC Codes or Master CD Burning. We hope to add this feature in the future but for now you need to handle that on your own.
